The BMW R nineT features an air/oil-cooled flat-twin boxer engine with a displacement of 1,170 cc. This engine produces around 109 PS at 7,250 rpm and peak torque of about 116 Nm at 6,000 rpm, providing ample power for various riding conditions. It has a six-speed gearbox that ensures smooth gear transitions during rides.

With a kerb weight of around 221 kg, the R nineT offers stability while remaining agile enough for urban environments. The braking system consists of dual disc brakes at the front (320 mm) paired with a single disc brake at the rear (265 mm), complemented by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety during braking manoeuvres.
