BMW - S 1000 XR

The BMW S 1000 XR is a high-performance adventure sport motorcycle with superbike performance and touring capabilities. Launched in India with a starting price of approximately ₹20 lakh, this model caters to riders who seek excitement on highways and winding roads while enjoying comfort during long trips. The S 1000 XR is powered by an aggressive inline-four engine that delivers exhilarating performance, making it one of the most versatile bikes in its class.

At the core of the BMW S 1000 XR lies a water-cooled inline-four engine with a displacement of 999 cc. This powerful engine produces up to 165 PS at 11,000 rpm and a peak torque of around 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm, allowing it to reach top speeds exceeding 200 km/h while accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just about three seconds. The bike features a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch for seamless gear changes under aggressive riding conditions.

With a kerb weight of approximately 228 kg, the S 1000 XR offers an excellent power-to-weight ratio for outstanding performance on track or road. The braking system consists of dual disc brakes at the front (320 mm) and a single disc brake at the rear (265 mm), complemented by BMW's ABS Pro system for enhanced safety during high-speed braking manoeuvres. The fuel tank capacity is around 20 litres, with a claimed mileage of approximately 20 km/l under standard riding conditions.

Depending on variant selection, the motorcycle's suspension system includes fully adjustable front forks from Öhlins or Marzocchi and a rear mono-shock setup that allows precise handling characteristics on various surfaces.
